Canterbury City Council has made a decision on the planning and development of a site in Herne Bay and chosen a preferred development partner, it has been reported.
The local authority has chosen London-based developer Coplan Estates to help support the Herne Bay Area Action Plan regeneration project, Property Week revealed.
Planning and development will progress for the £50 million council-owed site which will be a mixed-use redevelopment.
Coplan Estates has suggested the 60,000 sq ft site includes 75 residential apartments, a medical centre and additional retail units.
The planning and development firm is expected to submit a planning application by the end of the year, the publication asserted.
Kent-based Denne Construction has been announced by the council as the contractor.
Canterbury City Council Executive confirmed the appointments in December.
A number of partnerships have been entered into by Coplan for mixed-use regeneration projects.
It was previously selected by Bedford Borough Council to develop new community and retail facilities including a creche.
