Max Property Group has appointed two design teams to redevelop St Katherine Docks, the well-known marina close to the Tower of London.

Max Property Group has appointed two design teams to redevelop St Katherine Docks, the well-known marina near the Tower of London.

Max said the "important appointments have been made as part of the significant investment into the historic Dock from the new owners.'

Architect Morey Smith has been enlisted for its experience in "conducting exceptional renovations on existing buildings."  It will work on the update works to International House, which will see the main reception and 30,000 sq ft of offices refurbished including a new quayside access.  The renovation has already commenced and is due for completion in early 2012.

Architect Buckley Gray Yeoman has been appointed masterplanner for the renovation of Commodity Quay, which will offer 130,000 sq ft of offices.

Whilst this is more than a light makeover and re-launched and will create some disturbance for local tenants, there is little doubt that Max will bring forward real improvement to the development at a time when such investment should be poised for strong growth as demand for space recovers.
