Contstruction and facilities management company earns contracts totalling £200 million
By Ashley Brunskill
Facilities management and building group Interserve has revealed it has secured contracts worth up to £200 million working in the UK and Middle East.
Much of the UK contract revenue has been generated from a deal to assist United Utilities in building storm-water tunnels in Lancashire, a contract worth £70 million.
Associate companies in Qatar secured construction contracts worth more than £140 million.
Contracts to provide facilities management service to the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates will see the company eventually based at more than 220 locations in the country.
Adrian Ringrose, Interserve's chief executive, said the contracts demonstrated the company was benefitting from "long-term client relationships" and highlighted the strength of Interserve's main markets both in Britain and abroad.
News of the contracts came as Interserve reported a yearly pre-tax profit for 2009 of £89.2 million, an increase of 11.6 per cent on 2008.
