Property still considered a choice investment, report suggests.
By Jenifer Courtney
New research from Scottish Widows has revealed that 45 per cent of people believe that property can offer better returns than other forms of investment.
According to the survey results, more Brits consider property to be a good investment to withstand an economic downturn than last year.
In response to the report, Jason Butler, partner at Bloomsbury Financial Planning, said: "There is always going to be a return in property and it is a good thing to invest in, despite the fact that we are going through a major drought in the property world at the moment.
"If people feel comfortable with it and they can rationalise it then they will have a propensity to want to invest in that over and above other investments."
Investment Property Databank reported this week that the UK commercial sector saw capital growth in August for the first time in over two years.
