Monday, December 22, 2008
The Woodland Trust has announced plans for new corporate real estate across the road from its current headquarters.
The Woodland Trust will move into new corporate real estate which will be able to meet the organisation's business requirements for at least 20 years, it has been confirmed.
According to New Builder, planning permission for the new facility was granted at a meeting of South Kevesten district council last week, with a move date scheduled for 2010.
The building will boast a number of green features and has been described as "inspirational".
As part of the funding agreement, the trust will also commit £10,000 to the development of new bus services to allow it easier for workers to leave their car at home.
"We want offices that are both inspirational and as environmentally efficient as we can make them, while keeping a firm hold on costs. This is an investment in the future effectiveness and efficiency," said chief executive Sue Holden.
In other organisational developments, the trust recently awarded Alun Michael MP the Environmental Champion accolade at the annual E-Politix charity awards for his commitment to the Planning Act.
