MRICS Rating/Rent Review Surveyor
An innovative and dynamic consultancy are looking for a chartered “Rating Surveyor” to join their successful London based team. We deliver a broad range of real estate services to a wide range of clients, across many sectors and industries.
Working as party of an established team, you will undertake Rating survey negotiation and appeal work, providing professional and commercial rating advice to a range of corporate and public sector clients; would be responsible for your own caseload and contribute to fee billing and profit targets. You could be at ground-floor; first major career move stage; or the finished definitive of a top dog; or somewhere in between; and bursting with attitude, energy and potential whatever your skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections, assist with rating appeals and prepare draft reports
- Undertake rental/cost analysis

Assist in/work on Tribunal preparations
- Preparation of meeting reports and participation in client meetings
- Advise on accuracy and validity of rate accounts
- Ensure timely and accurate billing and debt management
- Actively manage and develop client relationships
- Seek opportunities to promote and sell business opportunities
- Contribute to managing and enhancing client service levels
- Negotiate with the Valuation Office Agency within timescales and in accordance with Quality Assurance Procedures
- Keep own knowledge of relevant legislation and case law up to date and broaden sector knowledge
- Develop internal and external network for business pipeline/opportunities
Candidate Requirements:
- MRICS qualified
- Demonstrated track record of working in Rating as specialism, reference clients and fees
- Excellent negotiation skills in all situations
- Strong report writing skills and English language training
- Ability to build relationships with clients and network across the UK
- Rating experience gained either in the Valuation Office Agency or private practice Referencing/survey ability
- Detailed knowledge of Rating legislation, case law and valuation methods
- Good IT Skills (Word-processing and spread sheets)
- Familiarity with bespoke rating software preferable e.g. Analyse & Riverlake
- Used to working to tight deadlines and working well under pressure with Colleagues
- Demonstrable understanding of business development and client relationship management
